Online in Thailand. Thai Sim card for your mobile phone
Never far, there is always at least one restaurant with free internet (WIFI). The prices for a Sim card are so cheap that you don't need to save money here. At every airport and in every tourist area there is at least one shop nearby that would like to sell you a SIM card. In the big shopping centers you are guaranteed to find a shop from "AIS", "true move" or "dtac".

The largest provider is "AIS". This also has the best network coverage. This means that there are only a few places in Thailand where you would have no or poor connection.

All three providers are actually very similar. When buying, you have to have a document with you. A driver's license or passport is sufficient.
There are weekly and monthly packages that you can use to make phone calls and go online. It is usually enough to buy the smallest package. Mostly a internet package only is enough. In the hotel itself you access the WLAN (WIFI).

So you have to go to a shop of one of the providers and tell the seller that you want a SIM-CARD. You tell which package it should be and the SIM card can be inserted and activated directly.

If your package is used up, a new SIM card is not necessary. Just go back to an AIS, DTAC or TRUEMOVE store. The staff there don't do anything else all day and they definitely know what to do. Just ask and say that you already have a SIM card in your mobile phone and only want to top it up.
