Bangkok
The government has decided to approve the second extension. The first extension will expire on July 31. The visa amnesty is now extended until September 26th. This allows foreigners to remain in Thailand.
This applies to everyone whose visa had not expired before March 26th.
This also means that 90-day reporting for foreigners residing in Thailand is no longer necessary.

Note: Further information could follow until July 31, 2020.
However, the current status is that as a foreigner in Thailand you do not have to go to immigration, even if the residence permit expired during the lockdown. The visa is automatically extended until September 26th.

Summary: As part of the visa amnesty, foreigners do NOT have to immigrate to Thailand to register their residence or to extend their stay in the country.
