Visa after information from the German embassy and consulates:
Single and one-time entry per calendar year is unproblematic for tourist purposes. If you are a regular holidaymaker, only points 1. and 2. are important to read. Everything else does not necessarily need to be read.
No visa is necessary if you are vaccinated and have planned a maximum of 30 days holiday.
Flight ticket(s) + passport + vaccination certificate(s) + passport photos + hotel booking.
If not vaccinated then a Coronavirus RT-PCR test is required which must not be older than 72 hours at the time of issue.
If a visa is required, then the visa can only be applied for online (e-visa system).
Quarantine on arrival is no longer necessary.
That was the most important information in a nutshell.

The current measures for Thai and foreign citizens wishing to travel to Thailand from 1 July 2022 are as follows:
vaccinated
For travellers who have received either all required vaccinations (two doses, or one dose in the case of Johnson Johnsons Janssen vaccine), or one vaccination after COVID infection, or all required vaccinations before COVID infection, at least 14 days prior to travel:
1.1 there is no longer a quarantine requirement.
1.2 registration for the Thailand Passport is no longer required.
1.3 the RT-PCR test result or the ATK rapid test result, which must be issued at least 72 hours before departure, is also no longer required.
1.4 The only requirement is to show the vaccination certificate to the airline staff at check-in and to the competent authority upon arrival in Thailand.
NOT vaccinated
For those who have not yet received a full vaccination,
2.1 there is no longer a quarantine requirement.
2.2 registration for the Thailand Passport is no longer required.
2.3 a negative PCR test result or ATK rapid test result (not an ATK self-test result) issued no more than 72 hours prior to departure is required. A self-test result will not be accepted. The test result must be shown to the airline staff at check-in and to the competent authority upon arrival in Thailand (children under 6 years travelling with their parents are exempt).
Both Thai and foreign unvaccinated young people under the age of 18 travelling with vaccinated parents will be treated as their vaccinated parents.
