Top 3 Nightlife Hotspots in Bangkok
1. KhaoSan Road
1. KhaoSan Road
is the "little" street that everyone explores on their first visit to Thailand. This is where backpackers and young party people hang out. There are lots of bars and also a small discotheque. Alcoholic drinks in buckets are just as popular as Chang beer and loud music can be found all along the street. All around there are other streets with countless restaurants. Tourists stay near KhaoSan Road for the first 1-3 days, as it is an exciting start to their first visit to Thailand.

Tip: The almost even more popular street because already very beautiful in the evening is Soi Ram Butri. Marked on the map as "KhaoSan Road 3".
Tip: Cheap hotels can be found towards and along "KhaoSan Road 2".

Note: The hotels on KhaoSan Road itself are more expensive and some budget rooms get the loud party music unmuffled until early in the morning.

Club on KhaoSan Road
"The Club KhaoSan" is very popular with "drunken backpackers" who want to attract young locals for a night out. This is exactly what its all about, those who want to do the same can party really well here. Here you will find about 50% female students from Bangkok who make the pilgrimage to KhaoSan Road just to party. The club is somewhat hidden in the middle of KhaoSan Road after an inconspicuous entrance to the "basement area".
2. Sukhumvit
is the name of the main street. A skytrain runs along this road through Bangkok. [Tip: This Skytrain is generally preferable for all journeys as you can avoid the traffic jams in Bangkoks streets. ]
This large area in the centre is the most famous. This is the adult version of KhaoSan Road, which means there are a lot of red light districts with beer bars and go-go bars. There are a total of 5 streets here that are among the most popular. These are all along the main Sukhumvit road. To get from the first hotspot along the main street to the last, it is a 4km walk. It is therefore worth taking a taxi or BTS (Skytrain).
2.1 Nana
A lot of beer bars and GoGo bars can be found in "Sukhumvit Soi4". This is colloquially called "Nana" because the skytrain station "Nana BTS Station" is only less than 400 metres away. Nana is home to many freelance ladies and a lot of tourists.

A club for afterwards is also within reach. The "Levels Club" is recommended. It is located in Sukumvit Soi 11 (see map) and is only 1km away from Nana. The entrance via a lift takes you to this club. There are two floors, the ground floor with a large bar, a DJ stage, 4 stages for coyote dancers, a dance floor and an outdoor area with a view of the skyline, and an upper floor with mostly VIP tables. The Thai ladies in this club are 80% freelance there looking for togetherness with a foreigner.

Another similar club is only 100 metres away from LevelsClub. The Insanity Nightclub. This is perceived as more hip. Some prefer this club to LevelsClub but it is a matter of taste.

A club where only female "freelancers" wait for farangs (foreigners) to party and have fun is the "EQ Late Night Club". This is located in Sukhumvit Soi4. Directly in the "Nana" area.
2.2 Asoke
Not far from Nana and a bit more relaxed is the Asoke area, also with a nearby skytrain station. There is also the famous "Soi Cowboy".

2.3 Phrom Phong
Karaoke bars in the style Japanese tourists like very much and many good restaurants.

2.4 Thong
This is the area where you can meet Thai superstars, this area is popular with Thai high society (HiSo).

2.5 Ekkamai
Also within easy reach of a BTS station is the Ekkamai area.
Relaxed area with beer bars and street food to check out.
3. RCA
stands for "Royal City Venue. This is the largest area around an exciting nightlife. Thai party people and couple tourists in particular prefer this area to party in clubs instead of the Sukhumvit and KhaoSan area.
Here you will meet locals partying authentically and less barmaids (freelancers). The top clubs in the RCA are Route66, Onyx, Tha-Beatlounge. A lot of beer bars and restaurants brighten up the early night.
DressCode
Taxi prices
0-1 km 35 Baht (basic price)
1-10 km 5,5 Baht
10-20 km 6,5 Baht
20-40 km 7,5 Baht
40-60 km 8,0 Baht
60-80 km 9,0 Baht
over 80 km 10,5 Baht
If the taxi does not go faster than 6 km/h, for example in a rush hour traffic jam, it costs 2 baht per minute.

The journey from the airport by taxi takes about 30 minutes (30km), depending on traffic conditions up to 1.5 hours.

The journey from the airport (Suvarnabhumi) to KhaoSan Road costs about 17€ by taxi.
Arrival by bus from the airport.
Approx. 2€ by city bus, changing once at the "Phaya Thai" station by getting on the second bus at the "Bangkok Business College" bus stop and going to "Koh Wua Intersection Opposite Lottery", which is only one street away from "KhaoSan Road". Buses run approximately every 26 minutes. Approx. 1€ each way.

Clubs

Yes, the clubs all have air conditioning.

KhaoSan Road

is great for backpackers and couples. In fact, everyone can have fun here, unless youre specifically looking for the red-light district. Then you should head straight for Sukhumvit.

Red light

Sukhumvit is suitable for single travellers and love-seekers as at night in certain areas it is mainly about the fun you can have in a red light district.

The prices for alcoholic drinks

are very cheap in the small supermarkets everywhere in Thailand. In the discos and bars, however, they are relatively expensive. In the discos, most people therefore buy a large bottle, to which they also get normal drinks (cola). The big bottles, e.g. Thai whiskey, are served in elegant buckets with ice cubes. Prices from 20€

Hotel prices

prices are quite expensive at the hotspots. Just a few hundred metres further on, the prices are halved. In my opinion, Bangkok is only suitable for a few days and nights (1-3 days). Bangkok is usually the first place you see after a long flight, so you shouldnt spend every euro on your hotel. It is only a few days, often only 2 nights. But dont worry, there are countless hotels and hostels, something for every budget. In any case, you should book in advance on Agoda.de or Booking.de. Arriving after a long flight and with heavy luggage, its no fun to have to look for a hotel.

Prices

Prices in Bangkoks tourist areas are generally higher.
You will get a higher "foreigner price" for almost everything where no price is set (advertised) in advance. Taxis, TukTuks and boats of criminal drivers or vendors on the street, will charge you a hundred times higher prices than is usual.

Usual: 1 km taxi ride approx. 45 Baht
Rip-off price: 1 km taxi ride approx. 2000 baht / person

Scam

Only use taxis with a taximeter.
Do not use tuk-tuks if possible, you can do it for fun but you have to agree on a cheap price beforehand. 40Baht per kilometre would be an acceptable "tourist price".
TukTuks very often try to talk you into a coffee ride with extremely cheap offers for rides.
Yes, typical rip-offs like "the temple is closed today, Ill drive you to a better one" still exist.

Getting there from the airport:

Motorway Toll: Expressways cost tolls.
This is normal and not a rip-off if you travel by taxi.
Some will advance the toll charges and add them to the taxi fare at the end of the journey. Others will ask you for the money directly at the toll station. Usually the amount is between 25 and 45 baht.
